2026 Yu Lan Cultural Festival will hold various promotional activities to strengthen public awareness of the conservation and heritage of the Teochew Yu Lan Festival culture. On August 29, the "Central and Western District Teochew Tradition & Yu Lan Cultural Fun Day" will be held at Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park in Hong Kong. Members of the public are invited to experience the fun of Yu Lan culture through various thematic talks, cultural workshops, and exhibitions. Details are as follows:

Central and Western District Teochew Tradition & Yu Lan Cultural Fun Day (Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Joint Temples Zhongyuan Auspicious Remembrance Ceremony)

Activity 1: Thematic Sharing Session: Race Against Time of the Four Traditional Yu Lan Festivals

Description: This sharing session invites representatives from four traditional Yu Lan Festival communities to review the past and present challenges encountered in organizing Yu Lan Festivals. They will also explore how to seize time amidst the current inheritance situation to continue the mission of passing down the heritage across generations.

Activity 2: Sharing Session: Hong Kong's Kan Tai Lung and the Culture of Qiaopi, Remittance, and Rice Industry

Description: In modern Chinese history, the Kan Tai Lung family created a legend spanning six generations, with business operations extending across Hong Kong, Thailand, and the whole of Southeast Asia. This sharing session invites Dr. Au Chi-kien and the representative of Kan Tai Lung to share the legendary story of over a century of enduring success, while witnessing the development of Qiaopi (overseas Chinese remittances/letters) culture.
